Frequently asked questions

What size are Ari Baby muslin blankets?

All Ari Baby muslin swaddle blankets are 120 × 120 cm — a generous square that works for swaddling a newborn, covering a stroller or pram, or layering over a play mat.

What are Ari Baby blankets made of?

Each blanket is a soft blend of 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. The blend is breathable enough for a Queensland summer and softens with every wash.

What does OEKO-TEX certification mean?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is an independent certification that tests every component of a textile — fabric, thread, dye — for harmful substances. Re-certified annually. Ari Baby blankets carry this certification.

What does GOTS certification mean?

GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, certifies that the cotton is grown organically and that the rest of the supply chain — including the factory itself — meets environmental and labour criteria. Ari Baby blankets carry this certification too.

What's the difference between OEKO-TEX and GOTS?

They answer different questions. GOTS tells you about the fibre and the people who made it; OEKO-TEX tells you about everything else in the finished fabric — including dyes and thread. Most muslin brands carry one. Ari Baby carries both.

Where are Ari Baby blankets made?

Our blankets are made in China at one factory chosen because it holds both OEKO-TEX and GOTS certifications. They ship to Brisbane, where each order is hand-packed.

Are Ari Baby blankets safe for newborns?

Yes. The bamboo and organic cotton fabric is breathable and gentle on a newborn's skin, and both OEKO-TEX and GOTS certifications confirm that the materials have been independently tested. Standard safe-sleep practice still applies: a swaddled baby should be placed on their back.

How do I wash an Ari Baby muslin?

Machine-wash cold or warm with like colours. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Muslin softens with every wash, so don't be precious about laundering — these blankets are made for daily use.

Can I use an Ari Baby muslin as more than a swaddle?

Yes. The 120 × 120 cm size is intentional — large enough to work as a swaddle, stroller cover, light blanket, change-mat layer, breastfeeding cover, or burp cloth.

Where does Ari Baby ship?

Who founded Ari Baby?

Ari Baby was founded in 2023 by Shayal, a Brisbane-based pharmacist and mum. The brand started because she couldn't find muslin prints she actually liked — so she designed her own, working with illustrators around the world.
